Orlando Piratessuperstar Patrick ‘Tito’ Maswanganyi could leave for around R20 to R23 million end of the season.

The 26-year-old creative attacker played for U.D. Oliveirense and Académica de Coimbrain Portugal before joining SuperSport United in 2022. He only spent a year with Matsatsantsa but made his mark which saw Pirates knocking.

Soccer Laduma reported Maswanganyi’s former club Oliveirense is looking to bring back the midfielder. The Portuguese club are prepared to pay over R20 million for the Orlando Piratesmaestro.

“For now the Portuguese club is putting in an offer between €900 000 to €1 million which is between R20 million to R23 million,” a source told the publication.

“That could go up if he (Maswanganyi) moves to another club because Oliveirense are basing this on the fact that he is their former player and that they were expecting him to come back after SuperSport United.”

A second source told the same publication that Tito’s value should’ve increased after his national teamcaps

Orlando Pirates star valued at R20 million

“You know if you are a national team player your value is different from a regular club player. So now, with his (Maswanganyi) few Bafana Bafana caps recently, his value has gone up. If it was around R20 million to R23 million, now it should be higher than that. But also, it depends on which country’s league is interested in the player. All those issues matter in these transfers. But he is worth it!” said the source.

It remains to be seen if Orlando Pirates would let Tito leave just over R20 million. The midfielder has been one of the club’s most influential players in the past 15 months.
