African giants Zamalek FC are reportedly interested in hiring Orlando Pirates mentor Jose Riveiro!

Riveiro has handed in his resignation in Mayfair after a dream three-year spell at the club.

After winning five trophies, with three more up for grabs in his final two months in charge, the Spanish tactician undoubtedly leaves as an Orlando Pirates legend.

Now, reports suggest Zamalek FC are considering hiring Jose Riveiro for next season!

According to the latest transfer gossip, Zamalek FC who are known to pay their coaches over R1.5 million per month, are interested in hiring Jose Riveiro.

“Egyptian giants Zamalek are interested in acquiring the services of Jose Riveiro once he leaves Orlando Pirates at the end of the season, the Siya crew has been informed,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

“The White Knights are planning to appoint a new head coach for the 2025/26 campaign, and one of the managers the club is also considering is the Spaniard.”

Riviero is currently earning a reported R650 000 per month at Orlando Pirates.

A number of coaches are in the running to replace Riveiro in Mayfair.

Ferran Sibila, Rulani Mokwena, Pitso Mosimane and current fitness assistant coach Carlos Nodar Paz are the leading candidates for the Orlando Pirates head coaching vacancy.
