Orlando Pirates will compete in the Betway Premiership without Monnapule Saleng for the first time in three years.

The 27-year-old from Bloemhof, North West, has left the club on loan after delivering 25 goals and 17 assists in 70 games since June 2022.

According to Orlando Pirates’ rather shocking statement, Saleng has moved to his former club Orbit College on a season-long loan.

“Orlandopiratesfc.com can also confirm that an agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng,” the club stated. “The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly crowned outfit.”

According to whispered reports, the club is punishing Saleng over last season’s contractual dispute, with rumours of Kaizer Chiefs and Al Ahly showing interest in him.
