In the vibrant theatre of South African social media, where tweets fly faster than a vuvuzela’s hum, poet, and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has once again taken centre stage.
This time, her quill is aimed squarely at Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema.
The digital joust began when Ntsiki shared a picture of Malema on her Twitter (now X) account, labelling him a “failed politician.”

This salvo comes on the heels of Malema’s expressed willingness to engage in discussions with the African National Congress (ANC) regarding the recent budget speech presented by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana, reported IOL.
The plot thickens when one recalls that Malema had previously dubbed Ntsiki a “failed poet,” suggesting that this latest exchange is less about fiscal policy and more about personal repartee.

Social media users, never ones to miss a beat, quickly donned their commentator hats.
@Iam_PhilileD quipped, “You never healed from ‘failed poet.’”
@SiveMamvulane advised, “Stop whatever drug you taking Sisi… Sukuba muncu.”
@AmunTheAfrikan pondered, “Has his personal opinion left such a hole in your heart that you just want every opportunity for your vendetta?”
Mazwai’s history of critiquing Malema is as rich as a well-brewed cup of rooibos.
In 2021, she opined that the EFF leader was “not a true leader,” suggesting he was more volume than substance.
Fast forward to 2024, and Mazwai was back at it, criticizing Malema over a viral video where he was seen reprimanding EFF member Leigh-Ann Mathys during a press briefing.
