DJ Maphorisa says he has no beef with Mac G
DJ Maphorisa has finally spoken out about his relationship with Podcast and Chill host Mac G, putting lingering rumours to rest in a candid Instagram Live session that sparked debate online.
The award-winning producer made it clear that he holds no grudges against Mac G but didn’t shy away from expressing caution when it comes to interacting with the outspoken podcaster.
Their history has been a rollercoaster, at one point, Mac G publicly supported Maphorisa amid accusations of exploitation, surprising many fans.
But tensions resurfaced when MacG later referred to Maphorisa as a “gatekeeper” in the music industry, a label that didn’t sit well with the Midnight Starring hitmaker.
During the livestream, Maphorisa acknowledged their rocky past but emphasized that he doesn’t have a personal issue with Mac G.
However, he warned that appearing on the podcast could be risky: “It’s dangerous to talk to him because the guest’s words get twisted,” he said, referencing similar concerns he raised during the Scotts Maphuma saga.
A snippet of the video, posted on social media by @Mo_D1d on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, quickly went viral and divided opinions.
Some praised the producer for keeping it real, while others advised him to steer clear of the podcast altogether.
