Orlando Pirates will host Mamelodi Sundowns at a new venue in their blockbuster Betway Premiership clash later this month.
The match is set to be a headline fixture considering the title race implications, and a fitting venue has been chosen!
A victory for Mamelodi Sundowns would almost certainly guarantee a record extending league title.
For Pirates on the other hand, it will be a ‘six-point’ victory that could have major ramifications on where the Betway Premiership title ends up going at the end of the season.
Orlando Pirates to host Sundowns at FNB Stadium
The match was originally scheduled to take place at the Orlando Stadium on 15 March 2025.
However, according to IDiski Times, the match will move to the iconic FNB Stadium, a day later!
“With the fixture showing issues of traffic control, over-crowding and security concerns of supporters the decision was made in what is expected to be another sold out affair,” the publication stated.
In other news, Monnapule Saleng’s ongoing standoff with Orlando Pirates has been making headlines over the past month.
Saleng has been a standout performer for the Buccaneers over recent years, however the relationship appears to have turned sour this season.
According to Saleng’s parents, the Orlando Pirates superstar is depressed and wants to leave the Buccaneers due to his low salary!
Saleng is earning peanuts at Pirates – Tsoeu
Monnapule Saleng’s father, Thabo Tsoeu has opened up on her son’s problems in Mayfair. Take a look at what she had to say below.
“I’m in pain. He is the one who cares for us at home, and seeing his profession in such a state crushes my heart. I wish he could tell me what is really bothering him before it’s too late,” his father told SundayWorld.
“The problem is the contract. We would want him to stick with Orlando Pirates because it is one of the biggest clubs in the country.
“If he was not an important asset, Bafana could not have called him. We are requesting that Pirates consider what he wants. It’s unfair, imagine getting R70 000 but your contribution in most of the matches speaks volumes, while somebody else is getting R500 000.”
How much does Saleng deserve to earn at Pirates?
