Kaizer Chiefs will take on Orlando Pirates in the much-anticipated Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15:30.

This will mark the first Soweto Derby final since 2014 when both Chiefs and Pirates met in the MTN8 at the same venue.

Amakhosi edged out Pirates 1-0 to lift the trophy which was also their last major Cup victory.

Now, with the Nedbank Cup, it will be the first time the two Soweto giants meet in the final in 19 years – the last time was in the 2005-06 season.

And again, Chiefs were crowned champions after beating Pirates 5-3 on penalties following a 0-0 scoreline after 120 minutes of football.

For Jose Riveiro, it is important to defend this trophy before he leaves Pirates for another coach ahead of next season.

However, this Nedbank Cup is as important for Nasreddine Nabi given that it’s been nine years without a trophy for Chiefs.
