Kaizer Chiefs are not having the best of luck at the moment with with results not going his way thus far.Â
Chiefs dropped points yet again after 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership on Monday.
They relied on a late Ranga Chivaviro equaliser to secure a point during stoppage at the Mbombela Stadium. That result sees Chiefs remain in ninth on the log, having won just three from nine games thus far. So far, the season has not shown as much promise as the Amakhosi faithful had hoped it would. The results have been disappointing but coach Nabi has also not been helped by the amount of unavailabilities.Â
Chiefs injury woes
So far this season Chiefs have seen quite a few players being ruled out through injury. The likes Edmilson Dove and new signing Bongani Sam could not even start the season with the club. The duo were the first casualties who had to be sent home from the team’s pre-season training in Turkey. They returned to join a list of players who remained behind due to injuries they carried over from the previous season.Â
The likes of Mduduzi Mdantsane, George Matlou, Dillan Solomons, Ashley du Preez and Tebogo Potsane. The as the season started, Solomons, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Gaston Sirino, Reeve Frosler, Edson Castillo, Fiacre Ntwarijoined the list. Bradley Cross was the latest to join the long-term absentees list after a 2-0 loss to Polokwane City. Centre-back Given Msimango has also fallen ill and joined the group missing Chiefs’ two last games. Â
Dortley added to the list
Now as if that was not enough, Nasreddine Nabi will most likely have to deal with another long-term absentee. This time another new signing in Rushwin Dortley. Dortley fell awkwardly after a challenge and seemed to twist his right knee badly. After trying to soldier, he was eventually stretchered off. Although Chiefs still have cover, they’re now going into the players that were not initially part of the plans.Â
Chiefs fans can the injuries be an excuse? Or should Nabi be doing better with that he has? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.Â
