The long-awaited music video to Chris Brown’s smash hit ‘Residuals’ is finally here. As the world reacts, Mzansi citizens can’t help but notice themselves in the offering, causing excitement on social media.

South Africa has become a dream concert destination for many American artists and musicians as they take to social media to reveal plans or dreams to make that a reality. This past December saw the controversial descending of one of America’s most popular artists Chris Brown to the ‘motherland’.  Despite the controversy surrounding the event in the weeks leading up to it, the superstar pulled off an unprecedented feat and filled up the biggest stadium in Africa for two consecutive days.

Fast forwarding, the ‘Under the Influence’ hitmaker has taken to his social media to reveal the dropping of his global banger’s music video, which his fans have been impatiently waiting for. Upon close inspection, it is shown that the singer included some clips from his time on Mzansi’s shores.

This comes as no surprise as his controversial concert was one of the biggest achievements of his career, marking it as an important milestone for him and his South African fans.

As expected, South Africans have begun flooding the comments and making posts of their own, revealing that they have spotted themselves or someone they know in the music video.

Fans have also commended the superstar as a marketing genius as South Africans have become notorious for their ability to amplify anything due to their heavy and unmissable presence on social media. According to these users, including a Mzansi crowd in the video will guarantee him success, considering the size of his fan base in Mzansi.
