The renowned coffee chain restaurant Mugg & Bean has found itself becoming a trending topic on social media platforms.Â

Known for delivering top-quality service and serving some of the country’s most delicious cakes and aromatic coffee, Mugg & Bean has built itself quite a reputation of being the go-to place to have one’s meetings or simply catch up with an old friend over lunch.Â

However, the restaurant recently found itself the subject of criticism after one of its employees took to social media to reveal just how much she earned while working during the festive season.Â

In the picture later shared by the online blogger, Phil Mphela, the pay slip shows that the waitress is assumed to have earned just R4000 this past December. However, after deductions were made the waitress was left with just over R1400.00.Â

Sharing frustration on social media, she revealed that this was her salary from December until now after she has had to work double shifts from 07h00 in the morning until 23h00 in the evening.Â

Taking to the comment section, several online users had mixed reactions when came to the post.Â

Meanwhile, a third user corrected Phil’s assumption that the person was paid R2800 as a salary, highlighting that those were the deductions made and therefore needed to be added to the net pay.Â

To clear its name, the restaurant in question responded to the false narrative circulating cyberspace by correcting the confusion.Â
