Mozambique slaps visitors with new travel requirement

Travellers to Mozambique will now have to take heed of a new and unexpected travel requirement for passport holders from certain visa-exempt countries.

As reported by Tourism Update, starting immediately, travellers to the African nation must register their trips at least 48 hours before departure through the official electronic travel authorisation (ETA) platform.

According to the official notice, travellers who don’t register in advance may risk being denied entry or boarding into Mozambique.

The following countries are included in the list for the ETA:

South African passport holders are currently visa-exempt to visit Mozambique. They can enter Mozambique without a visa and stay for up to 30 days. This visa waiver applies for tourism, business, and other visits.Â
