It’s still all to play for in the PSL as the season creeps over the middle mark.
Mamelodi Sundowns lie nine points ahead of Orlando Pirates, who still have two games to make up, meaning, if all goes to plan, they could be neck-and-neck until the season finale.
Transfer rumours
- Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng, fit and healthy, hasn’t kicked a PSL ball in over two months, insinuating tension between the parties. A move in the offseason is not out of the question.
- Kaizer Chiefs target, and former player of Nasreddine Nabi, Feisal Salum will become a free agent in June after rejecting Azam FC’s contract extension. The 27-year-old midfielder is being linked with a move to AmaKhosi.
- Orlando Pirates are losing patience in their pursuit of Stellenbosch left-back Fawaaz Basadien; they are now reportedly monitoring fellow Winelands wing-back Omega Mdaka.
- The Buccaneers and Chiefs are battling for the services of TS Galaxy youngster Samukelo Kabini.
More on Mdaka
Mdaka, a former Kaizer Chiefs reserves player, is new on Orlando Pirates’ radar.
“You see that young defender? The left back who came from Chiefs? Yes, Mdaka, Orlando Pirates are monitoring him. They are finding it difficult to get Fawaaz [Basadien] so they think Omega [Mdaka] would be a good option,” SoccerLadumareported.
“He is still young, and he has great potential. They are monitoring him first before they could make any move.”
Another inside PSL source reaffirmed the Sea Robbers aspirations, saying, “this could work properly for the club because at the moment their main focus in defence is left back,
“They only have Innocent Maela who is not playing that much and then Paseka Mako who just returned from injury and that’s why Deon Hotto has mainly been playing in that position,
“So, now they are looking at another left back and Mdaka has emerged as one of the top targets according to their scouts and recruiters. So, let’s wait and see.”
Should Orlando Pirates get PSL youngster, Mdaka?
