South Africa not represented at Miss Supranational 2025

The Miss South Africa organisation has officially announced that the country will not participate in the upcoming Miss Supranational 2025 pageant, which is set to take place in June in Poland.

The news, confirmed via a public statement and social media post, has stirred mixed reactions among fans and pageant followers alike.

In the statement, the organisation expressed heartfelt appreciation to supporters for their continued loyalty, while making it clear that this decision was made internally.

“The Miss South Africa Organisation has decided not to participate in the Miss Supranational 2025 competition and will not be renewing its license for the event,” the post read.

This marks the second consecutive year that reigning Miss South Africa Mia le Roux will not represent the country on an international stage.

In 2024, she withdrew from the Miss Universe competition due to health reasons, a decision that was met with an outpouring of support at the time.

Amid speculation and rumours surrounding the recent withdrawal, the organisation moved quickly to shut down any misinformation.

In their official statement, they clarified:

“We note the fake news circulating and confirm that this decision was made solely by the Organisation and is not attributed to Miss South Africa 2024, Mia le Roux, nor the runner-up, Nompumelelo Maduna.”

While some fans expressed disappointment over South Africa’s continued absence from high-profile global pageants, others applauded the organisation for its transparency and commitment to making strategic decisions in the best interest of its titleholders.

With no plans to renew the Miss Supranational license, South Africa’s future participation in that particular pageant remains uncertain.

For now, all eyes are on the Miss South Africa organisation’s next steps, and what lies ahead for Mia le Roux during the rest of her reign.
