Grammy-winning star Michelle Williams has triumphed as the Favourite Featured Actress in a Musical at the 25th Annual Broadway Audience Choice Awards.
She won the accolade for her captivating role as Viola Van Horn in the hit Broadway musical Death Becomes Her. The play opened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in November 2024.

Death Becomes Her is a thrilling stage adaptation of the 1992 cult classic film. Michelle’s portrayal of Viola Van Horn mesmerised audiences.
She performed show-stopping numbers like If You Want Perfection and the haunting Siempre Viva.
The musical’s original cast recording, released in April, has been widely praised and is available on all streaming platforms, according to Front Mezz.

Overjoyed, Michelle took to social media to thank her supporters. “A big thank you to everyone who voted! It is a joy and super humbling to be in the arts and theatre community”.
The musical itself dominated the awards, scooping six prizes including Favourite New Musical and Favourite Leading Actress in a Musical for Megan Hilty.
It also earned 10 Tony Award nominations, underscoring its critical and commercial success.

Michelle Williams is no stranger to the stage. Beyond her Grammy-winning music career and her fame as a member of Destiny’s Child.
She has earned acclaim for her theatrical work, notably as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. Her versatility extends to television and film, but she is also celebrated for her mental health advocacy.
Michelle has openly shared her struggles with depression. She authored the book Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life and Can Save Yours.
She also hosts a podcast by the same name, helping to break the stigma around mental health.
