Media personality, Masechaba Ndlovu, voiced her opinion on the heart-aching murder of a 30-year-old woman, Olorato Mongale.

The Wits slain student’s demise raised fear and outrage across mzansi, including Masechaba, who urged the police to delve deep into the matter.

The news anchor took to her social media platforms to share her concerns. In a video clip she shared, Masechaba said: “This particular story will stay with me for a very long time. My thoughts and my prayers are with Olorato’s mom. Ma’am, I have the utmost respect for you and your strength. You shouldn’t have to be going through this, but you’re going through it and you’re dealing with it, and you’re alive somehow.”

Masechaba also commented on Olorato’s alleged scuffle with her killer, and her quick thinking of sharing her live location with her friends. “Clearly, she was a fighter because my assumption is that she fought. She didn’t just solve her murder, but so many other cases. When were we going to know about these other crimes? Why does it take a woman dying and huge publicity to focus on what is wrong?” she said.

Olorato was brutally murdered while she was out on a date with an unknown man, who picked her up with a white polo. After a search was called following the discovery of her bag and cellphone in an abandoned home. Her body was found in Lombardy, Johannesburg.

Online reports alleged that Olorato’s mother revealed that it seemed like Olorato tried to fight her killer before she died, because some of her nails were broken after the tragedy.
