Mamelodi Sundowns were well represented as Miguel Cardoso won the PSL Coach of the Month for February while Lucas Ribeiro won the PSL Player of the Month and PSL Goal of the month.
This marked a stellar month for Sundowns as they stretched their gap to Orlando Pirates to an excellent 18 points, solidifying their dominant position in the league. No one can deny that the two recipients deserved their monthly accolades.
“Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Miguel Cardoso and midfielder, Lucas Ribeiro were the big winners for the Betway Premiership February Monthly Awards, following the announcement of the February Player of the Month, Coach of the Month as well as Goal of the Month Awards by the Premier Soccer League.” The PSL announced.
“Following a judging session conducted by a panel of PSL-accredited football journalists and broadcasters on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, Miguel Cardoso and Lucas Ribeiro Costa were voted Coach and Player of the Month respectively – marking both Cardoso and Costa’s second accolades in the category in the current 2024/25 season of the Betway Premiership.” The association further stated.
Incredibly, the duo has won each of these awards for the second time this season.
The Brazilian has been in remarkable form, which was in full display in February.

The Brazilian forward is on course to produce one of the best individual performances we have witnessed in the PSL this season. Lucas Ribeiro scores and/or assists in every game for Mamelodi Sundowns this season.
In February, Ribeiro scored five times and registered three assists. For the second time this campaign, he has won the PSL Player of the Month and PSL Goal of the Month.
Can anyone contest him for the PSL Player of the Season and PSL Players’ Player of the Season awards when the campaign concludes in May?

Miguel Cardoso adjusting well to the PSL
The Portuguese head coach is on course to win the Betway Premiership in his debut season in the PSL. The league leaders won six matches from seven in February.
