Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FChave continued their good relationship on the transfer market according to reports.
On Sunday, it was revealed that Sundowns had seen their bid accepted by Stellenbosch for Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams.
Adams was subject of intense speculation from Sundowns in the previous window. However, after losing key players in Iqraam Rayners and Deano van Rooyen Stellenbosch were reluctant to let him go. It is believed that a bid of up to R30 million was put on the table to try and entice the player to join the Brazilians.
Stellenbosch and Sundowns doing business
This publication then reported that Sundowns and Stellenbosch have now reached an agreement for Adams’ services. All that is missing is an agreement on the player’s personal terms. That is not expected to be a problem, however. Now according to iDiski Times, that is not the only deal that has been agreed by the two clubs. It is believed that Masandawana have accepted a bid from the Cape Winelands side for their attacker Lesiba Nku! This in a transfer that is independent of the Adams deal.
“In a separate transfer, Sundowns have accepted a bid from Stellenbosch for winger Lesiba Nku and will complete the move for the winger, pending personal terms being agreed. The former Marumo Gallants and Polokwane City talent has yet to feature for Masandawana this season, having faced fierce competition for places in the squad.” Wrote the publication.
Nku heading to the Cape Winelands!
This move to Stellenbosch comes as no surprise after Nku’s struggles for game time this season. What was a surprise his signing for Sundowns in the previous season. Brought in by former coach Rulani Mokwena, he played 28 games scoring five goals with a solitary assist. He didn’t get the same favour under the recently departed Manqoba Mngqithi nor Miguel Cardosocurrently.
Stellies recently lost their top attacker in Lehlogonolo Mojelafor the rest of the season due to injury. That is why the signing of Nku from Sundowns could be of great help to Steve Barker going forward.
