Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says he does not have a relationship with the party’s former member of Parliament, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, and is not responsible for his whereabouts.

Malema said this during an interview on eNCA with JJ Tabane on Tuesday, 14 January.

JULIUS MALEMA AND MMBUYISENI NDLOZI HAVE NO RELATIONSHIP

As previously reported, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi who recently resigned as a member of Parliament after 10 years was nowhere to be seen at the party’s National People’s Assembly which was held at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg in December 2024.

This, after reports had surfaced that he was banned from attending all EFF political activities. These include meetings of the party’s War Council, which met weekly, and its Central Command Team (CCT).

Ndlozi was reportedly placed on leave of absence, which prevented him from performing his duties as a member of parliament.

In addition, the party’s former spokesperson was reportedly one of the members who knew about Malema’s former deputy and now uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party secretary-general Floyd Shivambu‘s departure.

Regarding questions about Ndlozi’s absence from the party’s third NPA, Malema said he doesn’t know why he was absent and wasn’t told not to attend.

“I’m not responsible for Mbuyiseni Ndlozi; I’m not his father. Where he was and what he was doing, I don’t know. The leadership of the EFF, which was supposed to be there, was there,” he said.

Malema said the two have no close relationship and that he doesn’t know if Ndlozi was a victim of Floyd Shivambu’s departure from the Red Berets.

“Ask him if he is a victim. How do I say someone was a victim? I don’t know if he was a victim. I never spoke to Mbuyiseni Ndlozi before the NPA, and I never spoke to him even after the NPA,” he added.

DO YOU THINK MBUYISENI NDLOZI WILL STILL BE A MEMBER OF THE EFF BY THE END OF 2025?
