Looking for cheapest Bakers Choice Assorted biscuits? Buy HERE

In an article that went viral on Tuesday, South Africans were left shocked at the price of a 2kg box of Bakers Choice Assorted biscuits at Pick n Pay.

The price tag of R369.99 left Mzansi gobsmacked.

It turns out that’s not even close to the most you’ll pay for the popular festive season gift.

Nor is it the cheapest …

As reported by The South African website, social media user @_NMabasoshared a picture of a 2kg box of Bakers Choice Assorted biscuits.

The biscuits have long been a common choice of gift and favourite snack for many South Africans during the festive season, weddings and birthdays.

The box contains many popular biscuits not found elsewhere, such as the strawberry wheel, red wrapper, pink wafer, Eet-Sum-Mor and lemon creams.

We did some digging and here’s how much you can expect to pay for the same box at supermarkets and retail stores in South Africa:

Checkers R279.99
Shoprite R289.99
Takealot R449.00
Makro R292.25
Pick n Pay R369.99
Woolworths Don’t be silly!
