Bafana Bafana right-back Khuliso Mudau has not yet penned a deal with Mamelodi Sundowns for next season.

The 29-year-old is currently in his last year with Downs after a successful five years. Since he arrived from Black Leopards, the lanky defender has made the right-back position his own, making over 140 appearances across all competitions.

Agent Steven Kapeluschnik has addressed questions on Khuliso Mudau’s future at Sundowns.

“Yeah, his contract is coming to an end, they have options [to extend],” Kepeluschnick told FARPost.“We have been trying to negotiate with them for a new contract, but we haven’t found each other at this stage.”

Khuliso Mudau likely to stay at Sundowns unless

Mudau has made a total of 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals while adding two assists. This season has arguably been his best and it’s hard to believe that Downs will let the player of his calibre leave for free.

Thapelo Morena, who has mainly featured as his backup, is more likely to leave should his contract come to an end. For Khuliso Mudau, it remains to be seen if the Sundowns key player will pen a new deal before the end of the season.

Masandawana have a number of players whose contract expires in the coming weeks. The players are Devine Lunga, Terrence Mashego, Marcelo Allende, Jody February, Sipho Mbule, Sphelele Mkhulise, Mothobi Mvala, Musa Lebusa, and Rivaldo Coetzee.

Should Mudau leave Masandawana?
