Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza has highlighted a significant positive change in his team since last season, when they went through a rough patch.
Abafana Bes’thende have secured two consecutive victories, bringing their total points tally to 13 after eight games played.
In total, they have four victories in the league so far this campaign, three losses and one draw.
Khenyeza, speaking after their 3-2 victory over Cape Town City FC, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s ruthlessness in front of goal over the previous two games.
Their victory over City came after they defeated Royal AM in the KZN derby in midweek by the same scoreline.
Khenyeza remarked that he has noticed that his team has improved in character and drive to win matches, which was not there in the previous season when they lost 11 games in a row under his tutelage.
MABHUTI KHENYEZA IS SEEING A DIFFERENT GOLDEN ARROWS THIS SEASON
“We’ve scored six goals in two games; it was difficult for us because we were not scoring in four or five games, but now we are,” said Khenyeza. “I think they’re growing, they’re getting stronger. There’s character and desire to want to win.
“I think they are really growing, which is something we had a challenge of last season. But this season, you can see. And this is the same group that we suffered with because whatever we experienced and now we can concede and be able to come back. There’s only one thing: we run until the end.”
Khenyezas men have a mammoth task ahead of them against Orlando Pirates in their next league clash on Tuesday, 10 December at Orlando Stadium.
While the Durban-based side will be looking to extend their winning streak, the Buccaneers will be aiming to bounce back after suffering a defeat to Stellenbosch this past weekend.
