Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Zungu and Tau

There is plenty of excitement around Bongani Zungu and Percy Tau’s purported moves to Kaizer Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs are linked with some big-name states with the January PSL transfer window approaching.

Namely, former Sundowns man, Zungu and Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau. Ironically, the Al Ahly star is also a former Sundowns player. Here is the latest on both transfer rumours.

CHIEFS ONE STEP CLOSER TO ZUNGU MOVE

Chiefs are considering making an offer for Zungu.

This is based on a very specific condition – that they clear out one or two midfielders. Specifically, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Samkelo Zwane.

“It’s true there has been interest in Bongani Zungu by Chiefs, but there be a lot that has to change at Chiefs for them to then actually sign Zungu,” a source told SoccerLaduma.

“They are first looking at loaning out some players in that position like Sibongiseni “Ox” Mthethwa or Samkelo Zwane and then if something happens in that respect, then the club will be able to sign Zungu,” he added

“So, at the moment, it all depends on if Chiefs can create space that can accommodate the signing of a new midfielder like Zungu. So, as much as they are interested in Zungu because of his experience, they are looking at how that could happen if they are to go ahead with signing Zungu,” the insider concluded.

Interestingly, Chiefs have decided to part ways with their R11 MILLION midfielder. So, in theory, they are one step closer to signing Zungu based on the above statements.

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR AMAKHOSI TO SIGN TAU

Tau has been linked with a sensational return to the PSL with Chiefs and Sundowns both linked.

Meaning, it appears that the Bafana Bafana man may finally leave the Egyptian giants, Al Ahly. However, neither the Red Devils have confirmed contact or interest from either party.

However, a couple of key factors make this move very possible and even plausible. Firstly, as mentioned, Tau has been linked with a return to SA. Meanwhile, Chiefs are in the market for a clinical attacker. Finally, Nabi has made it clear that Tau needs to find a new club in order return to the Bafana Bafana setup.
