Kaizer Chiefs are expected to splash money once the transfer window opens in the next few weeks.
Amakhosi have been linked to various top players such as Fiston Mayele, Mihlai Mayambela and Feisal Salum. With Nasreddine Nabi desperate to get the club back on top, it was rumoured he left for Egypt to try to sign Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele.
The Congolese striker was instrumental during the CAF Champions League, helping his side to their first ever title.
According to Soccer Laduma, Pyramids are looking to offer Mayele with a two-year contract offer which is reportedly close to US$3 million (approximately R53 million).
“The only way Mayele can join Kaizer Chiefs is if the player himself wants to reunite with coach Nasreddine Nabi,” a source told the publication.
Kaizer Chiefs to have another busy transfer period
“It won’t be because of money. Pyramids FC are offering him enough money to stay at the club or sell him to a club that can offer more money than Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs are believed to be offering around a R5 million signing on fee to be spread in three seasons and a monthly salary of between R1 million and up to R1.5 million. So it’s kind of difficult for Chiefs to sign him if it’s all about money only. Unless the player himself loves to come and play for the club,” the insider said.
Kaizer Chiefs signed three players in the last transfer window but their biggest spending came in August/September when they brought in seven players. Nabi has also been eyeing Azam FC superstar Feisal Salum, who he coached at Yanga SC. The 27-year-old creative midfielder impressed for his country Tanzania when they played against Bafana Bafana earlier this month and is seen as the player who can get Amakhosi’s midfield ticking.
Who should Kaizer Chiefs sign in the next transfer period?
According to iDiski Times, Bafana Bafana and Aris Limassol winger Mihlali Mayambela is keen on playing for Kaizer Chiefs.
“Aris Limassol and Bafana Bafana winger Mihlali Mayambela is open to a PSL move with Kaizer Chiefs, who are believed to be his preferred team of choice,” the publication reported.
Another star player linked to Amakhosi is Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old speedy winger has not kicked a ball for Orlando Pirates since December last year. If he leaves the Buccaneers in the coming transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs will likely pounce.
