Kaizer Chiefs will face Magesi FC in the Betway Premiership with a forced change in the front line.

KAIZER CHIEFS COACH CONFIRMS TASHREEQ MORRIS INJURY

As witnessed from the Loftus Versfled last Saturday, Amakhosi’s 30-year-old striker Morris went out injured as early as the 26th minute. Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has since confirmed that Morris will be out for around a week. This means a replacement in the number nine position when Amakhosi take on Magesi FC at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday at 19:30.

“He’s out maybe six, seven days,” Nabi said, when asked by iDiski Times how long Morris will be out for.

“I would say that it hurt us a lot because it’s a striker that can give you a lot of things. He’s a good presser. He doesn’t give a lot of rest to the defenders. But after, when he came out, we saw that even the centre-backs were a little bit comfortable with the ball all the time,” the Kaizer Chiefs mentor added.

“He’s as well in a nine classic that can give you, when you need you can play on him, he’s going to hold the ball, he’s going to give your team the time to go up to take positions to attack. And as well, he’s a player that, when you make all those crosses that were coming inside the box, he is someone who can finish it and who has a big presence, and it impacted a lot the plan of the game today.”

BRIAN BALOYI RATES NEW KAIZER CHIEFS SIGNINGS

Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi will probably motivate this player to prove him wrong. “I’m not sure about [Tashreeq] Morris, I’m still not convinced yet. Of all the [January] signings, Morris is the downfall,” Baloyi told FARPost. “I haven’t seen enough that I can say he’s a good signing for Chiefs. But hopefully, he can turn around the corner and start scoring; at least he’s getting game time.

“So far, other new players have been adjusting well to the team. Cele is playing well in the midfield, showing signs that he’s a good signing for Chiefs. “Lilepo, as well. In the attack, he brought something to the team. He’s scoring goals and creating opportunities for the team,” added the former Chiefs goalkeeper.

SIYABONGA NOMVETHE ON ITUMELENG KHUNE

Kaizer Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe has terrorised all but one goalkeeper in Mzansi.

“There are many, but the only one goalkeeper that I didn’t exactly hit properly, one who had some serious luck is [Itumeleng] Khune,” Nomvethe told iDiski Times. “Khune is the only one I haven’t hit properly. He is the only one; the rest I have hit them properly (chuckles). I’d look then and think this was one. Once I get the ball, he is going to leak in goals.”
