NASREDDINE NABI CREDITS KAIZER CHIEFS WINGER PULE MMODI

Following Saturday’s 3-1 win over Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup last 16, Amakhosi coach Nabi felt that Mmodi was once again an unsung hero in Kaizer Chiefs’ team. “Mmodi, what he does on the field, it’s incredible,” said Nabi via FARPost. “Sometimes you look at one or two opportunities that he has missed. But he’s a winger. His first attribute is to score goals.

“Maybe he should have scored easy opportunities that he has gotten. But for me, he was the best player on the field [against Chippa]. He is a player that works consistently; he’s a player that poses a threat to his direct opponent all the time,” the Kaizer Chiefs tactician added.

“Maybe you would see all the set-pieces or free-kicks that he gets for us. Even when we are defending, he is a player that tracks back all the time.

“He works for the team; he works incredibly, very well for the team. And we need to congratulate him. We believe that he was the best player on the field. And he has been one of the best players,” he concluded.

SIYETHEMBA SITHEBE LEAVES RICHARDS BAY

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe is looking for new employment.

The 32-year-old player from Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal, left Richards Bay after just eight appearances in seven months. It was reported that the former Kaizer Chiefs man was released after clashing with the coaching staff.

“What I can say is that sometimes you do things as a senior player, not knowing that they can put you in a bad situation,” Sithebe told FARPost. “The situation happened in the changing room after the game because, as a senior player, you stand up if things are not going well, and you know the emotions were high; I didn’t know this was going to end the way it did.

“And what I can say is that our situation with Richards wasn’t that bad because, after a loss, I could see that the decisions made by the coaches could have been better.

“I spoke out in the dressing room, trying to show coaches that some of the decisions they take are not good, that’s what happened,” the former AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder added.
