Kaizer Chiefs are renowned for their academy graduates, boasting current stars Wandile Duba and Mduduzi Shabalala. There latest success story is 19-year-old striker Naledi Hlongwane, who has been prolific in the DDC circuit, scoring eleven goals this campaign.

According to reports, the Bafana prospect has signed a five-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs.

“What I can tell you is the five-year deal is the one believed to have been agreed upon by all parties,” – an insider told the publication.

“Yes, the first time it was apparently proposed for a three-year deal. But the club felt they needed to keep the striker for a long time. So that’s why, finally, they came up with a five-year contract. This one is as good as done. I don’t think there will be any changes now.”

Khan says no

Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant manager has warned the Soweto giants to stay clear of soon-to-be free agents Sipho Mbule and Thembinkosi Lorch.

“What’s important right now for Chiefs is to maintain the team spirit, I wouldn’t advise them to sign Mbule and Lorch even if they were free, to be honest,” Khan explained on Soccer Beat podcast.

“The two players come with a lot of baggage. They’re good players, but what they do off the field is going to influence what happens on the field.”
