Kaizer Chiefs set to FINALLY beat Orlando Pirates to top target!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be on the verge of beating arch rivals Orlando Pirates to a top transfer target.

It is set to be yet another transfer window where Chiefs and Pirates go head to head for top quality.

Chiefs and Pirates to compete in window

Both clubs are, of course no strangers to this scenario having seen this movie play out plenty of times in the past. Even in the last window, Chiefs and Pirates were believed to be competing for at least three players. Polokwane City duo Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi, as well as Stellenbosch FC left back Fawaaz Basadien.

In fact, it was even thought that both Appollis and Matuludi were set to be unveiled by Pirates in January. When that talk seemingly died down, it then emerged that Chiefs had approached City for the Bafana Bafana winger. It was then said that the right-back would move to the Buccaneers in a separate deal. In the end neither of the players moved to either of the Soweto giants.

Since then, rumours have gone quiet on the players signing for either Chiefs or Pirates. But in a recent press conference, City coach hinted that if both Appollis and Matuludi want to go, they can.

Polokwane City resigned to losing stars

“That has been every team’s mandate or method to say, ‘we need to strengthen and you have to lose some’. You cannot bring in some and you still have a load of players who are still remaining in the team. And the speculation has been there so let them continue and I don’t want to mention names as to who and who are being touted. So let it be, whoever goes let him go, and whoever stays let him stay,” said Mohafe to journalist after clinching a top eight finish.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs are closing in on finally beating Pirates to the signing of Appollis.

Amakhosi closing in on Appollis deal

“What we believe is that apparently the talks involving Appollis and Kaizer Chiefs are at an advanced stage.” Said a source to the same publication.
