Kaizer Chiefs took to the media to confirm that the Soweto giants had finalised an agreement with Al lttihad for the transfer of Thatayaone ‘TT’ Ditlhokwe.
News of his transfer rumours made the rounds last week, with close sources confirming that Libyan giants had tabled an R15.7 million offer for the left-back, who is also comfortable as a centre-back.

Ditlhokwe’s exit comes barely 18 months after he joined the club from SuperSport United ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
He joins the 19-time Libyan Premier League Champions, having made 32 club appearances across all competitions.
Confirming the news of his exit, the Soweto giants posted online, “Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement with Libyan club, Al-Ittihad for the transfer of defender, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe.”
Many were more than convinced that his exit came just as his career at Kaizer Chiefs appeared to be taking off.
He had fast become one of Nasreddine Nabi’s options, and his command of the game earned him a regular spot in the starting eleven.
The publication has since established that the former Kaizer Chiefs defender Ditlhokwe is expected to travel to Tripoli this weekend to start his new chapter in North Africa.
Surprisingly, he will join fellow Botswana national teammate Tumisang Orebonye, who recently joined the club from AS FAR Rabat.
Tumisang Orebonye was once linked to Kaizer Chiefs before he settled for Al lttihad.
REASONS BEHIND DITLHOKWE’S KAIZER CHIEFS EXIT REVEALED
Amakhosi sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has revealed that it was difficult to release Ditlhokwe. He said the star ‘wanted to leave’, and the club nodded to his request.
The sporting director boldly stated that the club does not ‘impede’ players who wish to seek new opportunities, acknowledging the player’s desire to move on.
“It was not an easy decision for us when Al-Ittihad approached us regarding TT (Ditlhokwe). We engaged the player, and during our discussions, he expressed his desire to move to Libya for further experience and opportunities,” said Kaizer Motaung Jr.
Kaizer Motaung Jr added, “As a club, we didn’t want to impede his progress, and we appreciate his professionalism and discipline.
“Although we will miss him, we believe this is a fantastic opportunity for him. We would like to thank him for his dedicated service to Chiefs and wish him the best of luck in his new venture.”
