Kaizer Chiefsare continuing to balance out their squad with both incomings and outgoings this window.
With three players signed by Chiefs on Monday, deadline day now seems more like a day to offload players.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was confirmed that winger Christian Saile has joined SuperSport United. His swap deal with Tashreeq Morris going to Chiefs has been one of the worst kept secrets. Now the club are set to announce yet another exit on transfer deadline day.
Sam joined Chiefs from Pirates
SABC Sportreport that Chiefs have offloaded Bongani Sam to Magesi FC on loan for the rest of the season.
“Kaizer Chiefs are understood to have agreed a loan transfer for defender Bongani Sam to join Magesi FC until the end of the season. The Glamour Boys signed the left back from their Soweto archrivals Orlando Pirates for an undisclosed fee in July as they ushered in a new era following the appointment of coach Nasreddine Nabi. The public broadcaster can confirm that Chiefs have now concluded an agreement with Magesi for Sam to reunite with coach Owen da Gama in Polokwane. It’s a move expected to then be reviewed at the end of the 2024/25 campaign to see what the future holds for Sam given that he spent the last few months recovering from an injury he suffered during a pre-season camp in Turkey and then trying to work his way to be available for selection.” Wrote the website.
Signs for Magesi on loan
This seems like a good move for both Chiefs and Sam. The player has not been able to get minutes since joining and needs momentum. Magesi also stand to benefit from his experience should they get him up to speed. Amakhosi will be watching his progress closely in the hope that he can prove his quality.
