Kaizer Chiefs new signing facing backlash!

Kaizer Chiefs’ latest acquisition, Tashreeq Morris, has yet to score in his first five games at the club.

The public consensus surrounding AmaKhosi’s purchase of the former SuperSport United striker was bewilderment, many believing it to be a step in the wrong direction, signing a 30-year-old forward who hasn’t had the most prolific of careers.

It was probably Morris’ PSL experience that allured Kaizer Chiefs most, but was it necessary when you have the likes of Gaston Sirino, Yusuf Maart and Ranga Chivaviro? Not really.

Nabi defends Morris

Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi, who is also facing public scrutiny, defended Morris, saying, “today’s game was an exception, and we cannot evaluate players on one game,

“We have to evaluate players on the many games they play. Today’s team was very tired,

“It’s an exceptional game, bus as I said, we cannot evaluate players just on this game. This game should not be used as a reference,

“In the previous game, Tashreeq gave his all, he gave all his energy, and you could see today that it has impacted his physical strength.”

Salum to Kaizer Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs target Feisal Salum has told Azam FC that he won’t be renewing his contract next season, making him a free agent in the offseason – the Glamour Boys are monitoring the situation.

“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” Africafoot.com reported.

“He is enjoying his experience at Azam, a big club, but he wants to explore new opportunities at the end of the season,

“A move to Kaizer Chiefs? It is still too early to say for sure, but it is a very serious possibility.”

Do you think Kaizer Chiefs should have signed Morris?
