Kaizer Chiefs fans have several new reasons to be optimisticabout things in the ongoing 2024-2025 campaign.
Chiefs get the better of Stellenbosch in the Winelands, again
For all of their recent struggles, Chiefs just seem to have FC Stellenbosch’s number. New signing Glody Lilepo was the only scorer on Friday night as the Glamour Boys claimed a slender win over Stellies, while the R9.6 million Congolese star was instrumental in Chiefs’ second equalizer against AmaZulu in a recent 2-2 draw. His far post header was bundled into his net by Usuthu’s keeper Richard Ofori. Amakhosi fans will now be thinking “Why can’t we play at this stadium every week?”
Chiefs have won each of their last three Betway Premiership visits to Stellenbosch and fans are quickly warming to Lilepo.
Salum to Chiefs gathers pace
27-year-old Attacking midfielder Feisal Salum will not be extending his contract with Azam FC in his homeland. The goal-scoring schemer has been persistently linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” Africafoot.com confirmed.
What’s next for the Glamour Boys?
Chiefs’ reward for a 4-0 drubbing of Free Agents FC is a Round of 16 clash at home against Chippa on Saturday 15 Feb at 18:00 in the Nedbank Cup. Next up in the Betway Premiership for the Glamour Boys is a meeting with former mentor Gavin Hunt and his SuperSport charges on Tuesday 18 Feb at 19:30.
WIll Chiefs get the better of Chippa to reach this season’s Nedbank Cup final eight?
