Kaizer Chiefs could miss out on top 8 after Saturday’s draw

Kaizer Chiefs’ top 8 hopes hang by a thread following their 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United in their penultimate Betway Premiership clash on Saturday.

Makabi Lilepo cancelled out Ngoanamello Rammala’s opener as both teams played to a 1-1 draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. The draw sees Amakhosi remain in ninth place in the Betway Premiership with only one match to be played.

Should Kaizer Chiefs beat Polokwane City next weekend, Nasreddine Nabi’s men would likely finish in the top 8 but anything less than a win could see Amakhosi failing to finish in the top half of the table for the second successive season.

After Saturday’s match with Babina Noko, Chiefs fans took to X (Twitter) to voice their dissatisfaction with their favourite team.

Kaizer Chiefs might not finish in the top 8

“Instead of training others were busy having Gigs on the radio and TV celebrating their first Trophy in 10 years. Sekhukhune can just end the noise in this Kaizer Chiefs team. No top 8 finish,” tweeted @Real_neristo.

“Coach Nabi is not going anywhere You can scream and blame him all you want.. he is here to stay for another season.. deal with it. Blame your players and leave the coach alone,” tweeted @JabzinSA.

Kaizer Chiefs will need to beat Polokwane City next Saturday to seal top 8 spot but a draw might be enough if other results go their way.
