With thousands of people traveling to various destinations, the Soweto giants implored its supporters – and fellow road users – to exercise extra caution on South Africa’s roads.
The festive season is a merry time for reunions and celebrations, but driving on congested roads can be perilous.
Every year, thousands of people perish in motor vehicle accidents during this period.
Let’s contribute to road safety and ensure a safe and joyous holiday season.
To minimise risks, Kaizer Chiefs highlighted 12 essential guidelines:
1. Ensure vehicle roadworthiness
2. Avoid driving under influence of alcohol or drugs
3. Obey speed limits
4. Take regular breaks
5. Always wear your seatbelts
6. Be mindful of other road users
7. Follow road rules
8. Enhance visibility by switching lights on when it’s dark
9. Maintain safe following distance
10. Adhere to speed limits
11. Avoid reckless overtaking
12. Reduce speed
Meanwhile, before the end of the year, Amakhosi will play two Betway Premiership matches against TS Galaxy (Monday, 16 December) and Chippa United (Sunday, 29 December).
