Eight years after his release from prison, controversial media personality Molemo Maarohanye, aka Jub Jub has been exposed a hot-shot during his six-year stint in Sun City prison and Leeuwkop Correctional Centre by an alleged fellow former inmate.

In the year 2010, hip-hop artist and presenter Jub Jub was involved in a horrific accident, which resulted in the tragic death of Prince Mahlangu, Mlungisi Cwayi, Andile Mthombeni, and Phomello Masemola, while leaving Frank Mlambo and Fumani Mushwana seriously injured.

According to publications such as BBC News, at the time of the accident, Jub Jub and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala were drag racing in their Mini Coopers when they collided with the group of young learners. Furthermore, the Johannesburg court ruled that the duo was under the influence of cocaine and morphine when the accident occured, which resulted in public backlash directed towards the once-loved media mogul.

After being sentenced to 10 years with two suspended sentences, Jub Jub was released on parole after serving about five years of his sentence.

Recently, a former inmate, who allegedly spent some time with the Ndikhokhele hitmaker has made waves on social media, as he revealed that Jub Jub was some sort of hot-shot during his tenure in prison. According to the ex-prisoner, despite popular belief, Jub Jub was an incredibly powerful and influential in prison, and was feared by other inmates.

Furthermore, he reveals that Jub Jub was a highly protected, both by his fellow inmates as well as the guards. The former inmate went on to share some fond memories that he shared with the media personality, revealing that because of Jub Jub, he lived a comfortable life in prison.

Social media users, on the other hand, have expressed their own theories on why Jub Jub was so feared and maintained so much power. According to these individuals, the person with the real power is his mother, the equally controversial Jackie Maarohanye aka Mama Jackie, who gained traction following the Ithuteng Trust School fraud saga.

According to these users, Mama Jackie is extremely connected, and is not to be played with. They believe that she pulled some strings for her son to lead a comfortable life in prison.
