In the video, which has been viewed close to 3 million times, Nicole, using the TikTok handle @cola_pops, revealed what happened at the Food Lover’s Market in Camaro Crossing in Johannesburg.

Nicole had purchased a pie for her daughter, but was shocked to find mould inside.

“This pie smelled funny”, she said in disgust.

After requesting to speak to a manager, the content creator was told that she should pursue medical attention for her child and return with the doctor’s bill.

“I want answers,” she demanded.

In the clip, the Food Lover’s Market bakery manager claimed that pies were outsourced from a supplier. He also stated that he was “unsure” if the pies had been “rotated” or “repeated”.

On the topic of quality control, Nicole asked: “Why are you not checking it? How is mould getting in?

Under the video, South Africans were disturbed at the woman’s discovery and demanded answers from the fresh produce supermarket.
