It appears that the post-football career of former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has now rolled into full swing.

This comes as the 37-year-old veteran recently took to his Instagram page to share a picture of himself visiting a mining site while fully attired in his new PPE uniform.

Captioning his post, he wrote: “Allow yourself to be a beginner at things, no one starts as excellent.”

This is not the first time he shared his new venture with his followers. Last month he shared a similar post in what appeared to be his first day on the job.

At the time he emphasised the importance of starting from the ground and using the skills you already possess to do what you can.

His latest update has since sparked support from many of his social media followers, who were happy to see their favourite goalkeeper excelling. Responding to the post, one user wrote: “You can still be a part-time goalkeeper at Chiefs…No one can replace you.”

Others meanwhile shared that his transition has been an inspiring one.

This is, however, not the only venture that the father of two has dipped his toes into. He has also previously worked as a football analyst on the SABC and has recently also become a shareholder in a betting company called TopBet.

As it stands Itumeleng has no plans to retire anytime soon and is keen to explore any opportunity that comes his way.

In an interview with news and entertainment publication Sunday World, he said:

“My status at this current moment is that I have not mentioned the word retirement. I believe that at 37 years old, and as a goalkeeper, I’m still young. After all, goalkeepers mature like fine wine.

“So, I am continuing to train to keep myself fit. So, we will see what happens in the future because if I had to sign as a footballer for another team, then I wouldn’t be with Chiefs.”
