Fast rising music artist Ciza opens up about the effect of his parents’ divorce

Ciza, the rising South African artist and son of iconic duo Nhlanhla Mafu and TK Nciza, recently opened up about the emotional weight he carried following his parents’ highly publicized divorce in 2019.

In a recent appearance on the popular Podcast & Chill show, hosted by MacG and Sol Phenduka, Ciza didn’t hold back about how the separation impacted him, especially at such a crucial stage in his life.

“It hit me hard,” he admitted, recalling the time when he was in Matric and living with his father.

Despite his calm composure, the pain behind his words was evident.

Fans were quick to call out the podcast hosts for pressing on such a delicate subject, especially since Ciza was still a teenager when the split occurred.

Many felt it was unfair to put that kind of emotional burden on him during a public interview.

However, others commended his maturity and the grace with which he handled the moment.

Back in 2019, the couple’s separation shocked the entertainment industry, with Nhlanhla breaking the news in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“After almost 15 years of our strong bond of marriage, my husband, TK Nciza, and I have come to a tough but amicable decision to bring an end to our union,” she wrote at the time.

The message was clear, yet the emotional ripple it left behind was significant, especially for their son.
