Eskom Meter Verification will happen in certain residential areas as part of the City of Johannesburg’s project to improve billing. This project aims to make sure all customers get accurate readings for their water and electricity services and enhance the City’s revenue collection.
The verification will take place from May 12 to 16, 2025. Eskom agents will visit homes to check the accuracy of the meters.
Suburbs Affected by Eskom Meter Verification

How to Verify Meter Readers
Residents should check if meter readers are legitimate by using the City’s official communication channels. This ensures that only authorised people can access properties, which helps prevent fraud or impersonation.
If you have questions or concerns, you can call the City’s Call Centre at 0860 562 874 (Joburg) or message the City’s WhatsApp chatbot at 083 314 9640. Following these steps helps ensure that meter readings are accurate and verified, leading to clearer and more reliable bills..
