‘I’m not afraid of anything’ – Mbokazi sends warning to rivals

Orlando Pirates youngster Mbekezeli Mbokazihas picked up several Man of the Match awards since making his debut a few weeks ago.

The 19-year-old has fitted like a glove in the Bucs defence. This past weekend, Mbokazi was once again named Man of the Match during Pirates’ 1-0 win over Polokwane City

Speaking to the media, the new Bucs favourite revealed he found it easier to play with older and experienced players

“For me, it is sometimes easier to play with older players. For example, when I play along with [Nkosinathi Sibisi] or [Tapelo Xoki], it’s easier for me because what boosts my self-belief is knowing that they will help me,” Mbokazi told the media.

“When I do the things I’ve been doing, I have no fear because I know if you play with fear, too many mistakes might happen. But because my teammates have given me the licence to say ‘do whatever you to do,’ that is what has helped me play with confidence.

Mbokazi has been the man to watch for Pirates

“I’m not afraid of anything. My teammates are here, guiding me and everything becomes easier,” Mbokazi concluded.

The Buccaneers are in action this week against MC Alger in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinal. The Sea Robbers have already claimed a 1-0 win away last week and given their home ground record, they should at least get a result.

The Algerian giants have nothing to lose and might bring the challenge to Mbokazi and the team.

Can Pirates reach the CAF CL semi-final or will MC ALger have the last laugh?
