The Nawa family finally revealed the cause of death of the veteran actor, Don Mlangeni Nawa.

His widow, Regina Nawa, made the revelation on the funeral day that her husband lost a gruesome fight to prostate cancer. She recalled how Don’s sickness affected them as a family, leading them to face the hardships of undergoing chemotherapy.

Taking to the podium, Regina gave thanks to Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi and deputy minister of women, youth and persons with disabilities Mmapaseka Letsike for their contributions to his health, and she said: “I witnessed the journey of deterioration of his health, but I did not walk the journey alone. I walked it with many people. from government officials to politicians, artists and the ordinary masses of our people, so I’m here to give thanks.

“My husband had prostate cancer. He used chemo at first, which didn’t work, then he used the second one, which became so aggressive to his body, so they cut it in the middle. He gained weight with time, but it was false weight. Chemo resulted in him generating a lot of water in his body. He went to the hospital, and they drained him. He had been going in and out of the hospital to the extent that they discharged him to go die at home.”

She highlighted that with the industry they are in, she was forced to stop working and look after him. They faced financial hardships and called for help from Panyaza, who bought Don’s first dose of medication, and Mmapaseka bought the second one.
