Naledi Aphiwe reminisces about meeting Chris Brown

South African singer Naledi Aphiwe recently took to social media to express her longing to reunite with American R&B superstar Chris Brown.

Sharing a heartfelt caption alongside a photo of herself with Brown, she wrote: “Guys I miss Chris Brown 🥲😭😭😭 like I’m crying now I wanna see him again.”

Naledi’s connection with Chris Brown began in October 2022 when a video of her singing went viral, capturing Brown’s attention.

Impressed by her talent, he shared the video on his Instagram, praising her “incredible voice.” This online interaction led to a professional collaboration; Brown sampled Naledi’s voice in his song “Shooter” from the album “11:11,” released in November 2023. For her contribution, Naledi was compensated approximately R56,000.

The partnership culminated in a personal meeting on December 15, 2024, when Naledi celebrated her 18th birthday.

She met Chris Brown backstage at his sold-out concert at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Reflecting on the encounter, Naledi described it as a dream come true, especially since she had long admired Brown and considered him a mentor in the industry.

Naledi’s recent post highlights the profound impact of their collaboration and meeting, underscoring her desire to reconnect with the artist who played a pivotal role in her burgeoning career.
