It’s impossible to predict what might happen at a football club from day to day, but let’s imagine the Kaizer Chiefs side in 2030.
Wild predicted Kaizer Chiefs XI in 2030
Molefe; Dithejane, McCarthy, Dortley, Nkgwesa; Zwane, Blom; Shabalala, Vilakazi, Hlongwane; Duba.
In this situation, we’ve made a bold prediction that Njabulo Blom will return to the club permanently and become club captain and an Amakhosi legend. This team is the defending Betway Premiership champions, with Wandile Duba the reigning Golden Boot holder. Mduduzi Shabalala left the club in 2026 for three years to enjoy a stint in Portugal with Benfica. However, returned in 2029 and immediately resumed his wonderful partnership with Duba. At this stage, Rushwin Dortley is the record holder for most caps in a Bafana Bafana jersey; his tally of 108 eclipses the great Aaron Mokoena who amassed 107.
There’s also a return to the club for Puso Dithejane.
Let’s rewind to 2025
Back to reality and Chiefs are formulating a transfer wish list. One of the players on that list is Malian goalkeeper Djigui Diarra. According to SoccerLaduma, Chiefs are keen on recruiting the 30-year-old with 65 caps for his country. The experienced stopper has worked with coach Nasreddine Nabi at Young Africans where the player has been since 2021. The club are reportedly underwhelmed with new signing Fiacre Ntwari, while Brucs Bvuna isn’t seen as a long-term option between the sticks.
