Holly Rey, the South African singer and songwriter known for her hit ‘Deeper’, recently shared a deeply emotional post on Instagram about the health struggles she’s been facing.
In her usual honest style, Holly opened up about a recent diagnosis that has left her struggling to come to terms with.
“I’ve always been very open and honest about my health journey and my relationship with type 1 diabetes, but for the last month, I’ve really been struggling to come to terms with a recent diagnosis,” she wrote. “Because of that, I’ve found it hard to share anything.”
Her post really hit home for many fans as Holly shared how overwhelmed she’s felt but also expressed gratitude for the love and support she’s been receiving.
“The love and DMs asking if I’m okay and where I’ve been mean so much. I appreciate all the kindness,” she wrote, reminding us of the connection she shares with her followers.
She reassured everyone that she’s doing okay and is focused on healing: “I am okay, and I am on a journey of healing. I’ll share more when I’ve fully processed everything.”
Holly Rey has been in the music game since her teens, signing with Sony ATV early on. She rose to fame in 2019 with her hit ‘Deeper’, which earned her Record of the Year at the 25th South African Music Awards.
She’s also featured on tracks with some of Mzansi’s biggest producers, like Major League, Prince Kaybee, DJ Sumbody, Professor, and more.
