Cape Town shone on Wednesday night as it hosted the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards.
The star-studded event, spearheaded by Prince William, showcased a blend of Hollywood glamour and African spirit.

Global icons, conservationists, and environmental advocates all gathered at Green Point Shared Fields to celebrate groundbreaking climate solutions.
Among the star arrivals, supermodel Heidi Klum turned heads in a striking, asymmetric orange dress, according to WWD.
Her bold, one-shoulder gown, designed to perfection, blended sophistication with a dash of fun – a fitting choice for the evening.

The floor-length silhouette and warm, vibrant colour mirrored Cape Town’s own spirited personality. Klum’s look perfectly captured the mood of the evening.
She accessorised with a collection of glimmering rings, adding a bit of sparkle that caught the light as she posed for photos.
Klum’s look was simple yet impactful, with her hair parted down the middle and styled in soft waves, according to Daily Mail.

“I love the energy here,” Klum said. “Cape Town feels like the perfect place to be bold and make a statement, especially for something as important as Earthshot.”
Prince William, who launched the Earthshot Prize in 2021, was also in attendance.
He arrived alongside co-host, South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, and Australian conservationist Robert Irwin.
THE EARTHSHOT PRIZE WEEK
During Earthshot Week, the Prince of Wales engaged in local environmental initiatives. This included talks with Cape Town conservation groups and tours of sustainable development projects.
“South Africa’s approach to conservation is both inspiring and critical,” Prince William noted during the event.
“The country is setting a global example in its commitment to the environment.”

Mbatha, who co-hosted the awards, shared her excitement about the Prince’s visit. “It’s thrilling to see South Africa on the global stage for such a meaningful cause,” she said.

Heidi Klum wasn’t the only celebrity bringing colour and flair to the evening, according to Pure Wow.
Actor Billy Porter arrived in a unique ensemble, while model Winnie Harlow turned heads in a vibrant gown.

These projects range from ocean clean-ups and reforestation efforts to waste-reduction technologies.

They all underscored the pressing need for action.
“We’re here not just to celebrate achievements but to inspire action,” Prince William emphasised. “The Earthshot Prize is about solutions and bringing hope.”
Heidi Klum reflected on the significance of the awards as well.
“It’s heartening to see so much talent dedicated to preserving our planet,” she said. “The energy here is incredible, and I hope this inspires more of us to take steps toward a better future.”
