SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt was full of praise for former Kaizer Chiefs forward Christian Saile.
The 25-year-old Congolese winger left Amakhosi two weeks ago to join Matsatsantsa in a swap deal which included Tashreeq Morris. In his first match with the Tshwane giants, Saile scored the second goal of the match as SuperSport edged out Magesi FC 2-0 in the Nedbank Cup round of 32.
Speaking to the media, Hunt said the club was trying to use the former Kaizer Chiefs differently. In the six matches he played with the Soweto giants, Saile failed to find the back of the net.
“Look, I mean, we are all thinking about how he is different, and we needed something like that, you know? I was obviously sad to see Tashreeq Morris go, but we got Christian Saile in his place,” Hunt said.
“He is quite different, and we will try to use him to his strengths, and we will see where it goes. Only time will tell if he is someone we can get the best out of.
Hunt looking to use Saile differently to Kaizer Chiefs
Hunt has described Saile as deligient, hard-working and honest.
“We can only show him a few things and try to get him in the right areas, and then see where we go from there. But he has got the right attitude for us.”
“I think he will fit into our culture. The most important thing is for the player coming in to fit well into our culture, and he is hard-working, honest, and diligent, and that is what we want.”
Hunt has faced Chiefs twice this season winning once and losing the other. In the Betway Premiership, United defeated Amakhosi 1-0 in October while Amakhosi claimed a 4-0 victory in the Carling Knockout Cup.
Will Saile be a hit at SuperSport?
