Kaizer Chiefs 19 goal target future cleared by his current club.

Azam FC, based in Tanzania, has addressed the growing speculation surrounding star midfielder Feisal Salum, who has recently been linked with a move to Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Salum’s impressive performances in the 2023/2024 season, where he scored 19 goals, have drawn attention from several top clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs and Simba SC. With former coach Nasreddine Nabi now at the helm of Chiefs, rumours of a reunion with Salum have intensified.

Azam FC sets the record straight on Salum’s future

Despite the widespread transfer speculation, Azam FC has firmly addressed the rumours. Spokesperson Hashim Ibwe clarified that no discussions have taken place between Kaizer Chiefs, Simba SC, or any other club regarding Salum.

“We can confirm that there have been no discussions between Kaizer Chiefs or any club and Azam FC regarding Feisal Salum,” Ibwe said as quoted by FARPost. “He remains under contract with Azam FC and respects the club, which we appreciate.”

Azam FC’s spokesperson further emphasised the club’s appreciation for Salum, describing him as a key player whose contributions are highly valued by everyone at the club.

Feisal Salum is still under contract with Azam FC, and according to Ibwe, any potential transfer will have to wait until the end of the current season. Despite the rumours linking him to both Chiefs and rivals Simba SC, it seems Salum’s immediate future lies with Azam.

“Everyone at the club loves and appreciates Salum as he is one of the key players,” Ibwe added. Reiterating that the midfielder will likely stay with Azam FC beyond this season.

With his contract still active, Azam FC’s stance on the midfielder is clear. Salum will remain with the club for the time being. With any potential transfer speculation put on hold until further notice.

As the January transfer window approaches, the future of Feisal Salum remains uncertain. But for now, Azam FC remains confident that their star midfielder will continue to play a vital role for them this season.
