Two European teams reportedly want Bafana Bafanawinger Elias Mokwana.
The 25-year-old former Sekhukhune United star joined Tunisian giants Esperance this season where he scored two goals in 16 appearances.
According to Soccer Laduma, Club Brugge in Belgium are the latest team to express their interest in the Bafana Bafana winger. Before that, the French side Montpellier was also interested in the player.
“The Belgian Club that has been tracking Mokwana’s progress is Club Brugge, the same club that signed Shandre Campell from SuperSport United. They are really impressed with his consistent performance and are keen to bring him on board. However, with Montpellier in France also showing interest, it’s a tricky situation at the moment. But yes, it’s Club Brugge that has been monitoring him at the moment,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Bafana Bafana winger might be on the move again
Mokwana has impressed since joining Esperance despite non-payment disruptions that occurred last year. Soccer Laduma reported that the North Africans were happy with their forward and would only sell him if the offer was substantial.
“You know, with his contract with Esperance improves annually based on the number of games he has played. So far, he is performing well and the club isn’t ready to let him go unless the offer is substantial,” the source told the publication.
If the Bafana Bafana winger decides to leave Esperance, Clug Brugge would be the ideal destination given his style of play. For now, the attacker’s focus is on the league and also the CAF Champions League quarter-finals
Should Elias Mokwana leave Esperance for Europe?
