FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN MISSING JOURNALIST CASE

A multidisciplinary team involving crime and counterintelligence, cybercrime unit, organised crime detectives, serious and violent crimes detectives, SAPS Airwing and SAPS drone pilots led to the successful apprehension of the suspects.

According to a SAPS statement, the first suspect was the last to be in the company of the missing lovebirds.

The three other suspects were found with different vehicle parts believed to be that of the missing journalist.

“One of those arrested is said to be a mechanic who builds and fixes cars in the KwaMhlanga area.”

“Two VW Citi Golfs that were found in possession of the suspects have been seized,” said SAPS.

SAPS has changed the missing persons case to a kidnapping and car hijacking case.

Additional charges such as house robbery and being in possession of stolen property, will possibly be added.

One suspect will appear before the Mamelodi Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 06 May 2025 while three other suspects will appear later in the week at the KwaMahlanga Magistrates Court.

The police are still searching for the missing couple.
