Former Kaizer Chiefs striker secures shock move to Algeria!

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has secured a shock move to Algerian giants USM Alger.

Bimenyimana was most recently on the books of Persian Gulf Pro League side Zob Ahan Esfahan.

However, the 27-year-old attacker parted ways with Zob Ahan Esfahan prior to the closing of the January transfer window.

And that made him eligible to sign for a club of his choice, and USM Alger came knocking for his signature.

Bimenyimana became known to South African football fans when he joined Chiefs from Burundi.

Nonetheless, the lanky striker’s stint was cut short by Chiefs as they released him just after a season with them.

At the time, Bimenyimana had scored eight goals across all competitions but injuries became a huge concern the club.

iDiski Times reports that Bimenyimana has signed a one-and-a-half year deal with the eight-time Algerian league champions.

As things stand, USM Alger are third on the log, three points behind leaders MC Alger after 15 league games.

Furthermore, USM Alger are in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing top of their group with 14 points.

They were in Group C alongside ASC Jaraaf (Senegal), Orapa United (Nigeria) and ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire).

Both USM Alger advanced to the quarterfinals while Orapa United and Jaraaf crashed out.
