Remember Dumisani Zuma’s promising career at Kaizer Chiefs before the alcoholic drama?
DUMISANI ZUMA ON HIS REPORTED TROUBLES
“No, I don’t have”, answered Zuma when asked if he has an alcohol problem,” the Pitermaritzburg-born star said, as quoted by IDiski Times.
“I have only been caught once [with a breathalyser] and that was the time Basia [Michaels] and I decided that it’s time for us to go separate ways with the team because I wasn’t okay anymore.
“It was a mutual agreement to part ways and thank you for the service Dumi and thank you for the service at the team. It was that day I was leaving [when I was caught]. I think it was even published or posted on Instagram or something because the following day I came to training and I could see the way my teammates greeted me and everything. They said check your Instagram,” the former Kaizer Chiefs attacker added.
“No [I have never been to rehab]. What happened is that after my accident I sent an email I think to the manager and I was like I want to retire now because I cant’.
“It was too much for me and then that’s when I missed training. And when they found me they said I need to go speak to the psychologist and everything.”
FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS PLAYER SIYETHEMBA SITHEBE LEAVES RICHARDS BAY
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe is looking for new employment.
The 32-year-old player from Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal, left Richards Bay after just eight appearances in seven months. It was reported that the former Kaizer Chiefs man was released after clashing with the coaching staff.
“What I can say is that sometimes you do things as a senior player, not knowing that they can put you in a bad situation,” Sithebe told FARPost. “The situation happened in the changing room after the game because, as a senior player, you stand up if things are not going well, and you know the emotions were high; I didn’t know this was going to end the way it did.
“And what I can say is that our situation with Richards wasn’t that bad because, after a loss, I could see that the decisions made by the coaches could have been better.
“I spoke out in the dressing room, trying to show coaches that some of the decisions they take are not good, that’s what happened,” the former AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder added.
